Section 73
Investment in subsidiaries

(1) An insurer may establish its subsidiary company or invest in such company after obtaining approval from the Authority. (2) While granting permission to establish or invest in a subsidiary company in accordance with sub-section (1), the authority may prescribe necessary conditions and it shall be the duty of the insurer concerned to comply with such conditions.
(3) Notwithstanding anything else written in this section, the insurer may not establish a subsidiary company or invest in such company to carry on insurance business of the type it is conducting itself.
(4) Other arrangements related to the investment made by the insurer shall be as determined by the authority from time to time.
